With more than 1000 raids to his name, 24 years old Pardeep Narwal a.k.a. ‘Dubki King’ for his signature move “Dubki” or ‘Mr. Unpredictable’, is perhaps the best player of Indian Kabaddi. He is currently part of the Indian International Kabaddi Team and also playing in Pro Kabaddi League for Patna Pirates. Let us know more about Pardeep Narwal.

About Pardeep Narwal

Pardeep Narwal was born on 16th February, in the year 1997, in a small village called Rindhana, Sonipat district, Haryana. His father’s name is Mr. Dharmbir Narwal and his mother’s name is Mrs. Birmati Devi.

When he was only seven years old, he got introduced to Kabaddi by his uncle Ravindra Narwal and at the age of eight Pardeep took Kabaddi as his passion by playing for Under-11 School Kabaddi Team. Later, at the very age of twelve, he joined Haryana Kabaddi Academy under the coaching of Coach Naresh Narwal, where he learned his special move ‘dubki’.

Pardeep begun his career by participating in small local tournaments in his district Sonipat. His Kabaddi career took a pace when Ram Mehar Singh, the Services and Air Force Team’s head coach, after seeing Pardeep’s performance suggested him to play in the nationals. After which Pardeep represented Airforce in the National Tournament making it to winning the tournament.

Pardeep Narwal’s Pro Kabaddi Career

Pardeep Narwal started his career in Pro Kabaddi in the year 2015. Pardeep Narwal debuted in Season-2 of the Pro Kabaddi League as a raider in the team Bengaluru Bulls. At that time, he was under the leadership of Asian Games Gold Medallist Manjeet Chhillar. Underrating the young talent Pardeep was barely sent to the mat to play as a result had little chance to show his skills and he spent most of his time sitting on the bench. He played six matches in total in Pro Kabaddi League Season-2 and was able to score 9 raid points only.

But he got a chance to showcase his skills in Season-3 where he became the sensational player and scored 121 points for his team Patna Pirates. This was a golden opportunity for him as it helped him to grandstand his ability and become the superstar raider that he is today. Interestingly a shy Kabaddi player like Pardeep Narwal has become the most aggressive raider ever in Pro Kabaddi League.

As of today, Pardeep Narwal is the only player to hold the Pro Kabaddi League Most Valuable Player for two years consecutively (Season-4 and Season-5). He is holding many records to his name like Most Raid Points (369) in a single season (Season-5), Most Raid Points (34) in a single match, and Most Raid Points (8) in a single raid (Season-5) against Haryana Steelers.

He became the first player to score 1000 raid points in only 99 matches in entire Pro Kabaddi League history.
